Shaunak achieved first position! Shaunak sang- Bharjari ga Pitambar- a song from an old black and white Marathi movie- named Shyaam-chi Aaiee. It is originally sung by Asha Bhosle. It is a story of how Krishna tested Subhadra and Draupadi when he had a cut on his finger. The song is heavily emotional and has a deep meaning about brother-sister bond. He, of course recorded the background score by himself on his new piano. 

Shaunak achieved second position for this cute song. Shaunak as always put in a lot of hardwork in recording the background track for his song- this time with 2 instruments- Piano, Tabla and also did beatboxing for various animal sounds, for which he received special appreciation from the judges.

Shaunak & Shravani learnt our national song- Vande Mataram to sing on India's 75th Independence Day- Azaadi ka Amrut Mahotsav. 'Vande Mataram' is a poem written in highly Sanskritised Bengali by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee. This version is originally sung by Vidushi Sangeeta Katti Kulkarni. Don't miss the end, it is special. Both of them worked hard to get the pronunciations correct. They asked meaning of every word repeatedly until they were sure what they are singing. Knowing the meaning of the song has reflected in their facial expressions and voice modulations. Background music on Keyboard and Tabla by Shashank Okhde. 

4 year old Shravani and Shaunak Okhde Sanskrit Baalagiitam By Shri Arun Kumar.Shaunak and Shravani got a chance to be featured in IIT Roorkee's Sanskrit Club's Samskrita Sabhaa's Episode 2. They sang a song written and composed by Mr. Arun Kumar, a SamskritaBharati volunteer. Children don't know what is IIT or how special it is to get featured on their channel. They happily learnt the beautiful song and felt grateful for Mr. Arun Kumar, who specially composed a song for them to perform!

Shaunak & Shravani's Dialogue and Song in Sanskrit. They have picked up Sanskrit language naturally during the span of last one month. I started doing a course to learn Sanskrit from the experts to be better able to explain questions asked by kids about ancient Indian texts. I started simple conversations with them as a part of practice towards an audio part of the first level exam, and realised they picked up the language very organically.
